TOULOUSE, France. Thales Alenia Space -- a joint venture between Thales and Leonardo -- have won a contract to provide ground stations to Vietnam that will assist in search-and-rescue missions, Thales announced in a statement.

NASHUA, NH. BAE Systems and Leonardo UK received the green light from the U.S. government to develop an interoperable aircraft-survivability tool suite -- consisting of the BAE Systems AN/AAR-57 common missile warning system (CMWS) and the Leonardo Miysis directed infrared countermeasure (DIRCM) system -- that is aimed at vastly enhancing combat aircraft survivability against advanced threats.

ROME, Italy. A team of Italian companies has signed a contract for the next development phase of the country's 6th-generation air system, Leonardo announced in a statement.

ANDOVER, Mass. Radar equipment from Mercury Systems will be implemented in Leonardo UK's yet-to-be-deployed "E-Scan" airborne radar as Leonardo embarks on factory testing of its new radar systems.  

ROME. Defense and security firm Leonardo has won a five-year contract to provide cybersecurity services for IT infrastructure and offices at eu-LISA, the European Agency for the operational management of large-scale IT systems. 

NETHERLANDS. Leonardo's LIONFISH family of defense systems has been selected by the Royal Netherlands Navy to equip its Holland-class patrol vessels, Landing Platform Dock (LPD) and Joint Support Ship (JSS) units, Johan de Witt and Karel Doorman classes, and Den Helder-class Combat Support Ship.

UNITED KINGDOM and JAPAN. The U.K. and Japan have today signed a Letter of Arrangement (LOA) to jointly conduct cooperative research on a fighter jet sensor, and officials claim that the partners will aim to acquire cutting-edge sensor technology to detect lethal threats.
