ARLINGTON, Va. Leonardo has introduced its newest naval defense product Lionfish, a family of small-caliber remotely controlled turrets. Designed and developed by Leonardo, the new line consists of four models, which feature Ultralight, Inner Reloading and Top of 12.7 mm caliber, and the model 20 of 20 mm caliber.

UNITED KINGDOM. Leonardo demonstrated integrated capabilities between a manned aircraft and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). This took place in the U.K. during Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUMT) trials between a Leonardo AW159 Wildcat helicopter and a semi-autonomous UAV from Callen-Lenz Associates.

UNITED KINGDOM. The latest concepts under development for the Royal Air Force’s (RAF) next generation combat air system have been revealed by British engineers on the program. Delivering the technology will be Team Tempest, a U.K. technology and defense partnership formed by BAE Systems, Leonardo, MBDA, Rolls-Royce, and the RAF, and also involving hundreds of high-tech companies and academia across the U.K.

SeaGuardian RPA completes maritime test flights with GA-ASI - News

POWAY, Calif. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) concluded a set of maritime test flights over the sea-lanes off the coast of Southern California Sept. 11, using the MQ-9B SeaGuardian Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS). This was the first MQ-9B configured for surveillance operations over open-water, and served to demonstrate MQ-9B capabilities in the maritime environment.
