WILSONVILLE, Ore. FLIR Systems, Inc. announced that it has won an additional $15.4 million contract to deliver its FLIR Black Hornet 3 Personal Reconnaissance Systems (PRS) to the U.S. Army. The advanced nano-unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are being used to augment squad and small unit-level surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities as part of the Army’s Soldier Borne Sensor (SBS) program.

BERWYN, Pa. AMETEK, Inc. has announced the comapny's acquisition of NSI-MI Technologies, a provider of radio frequency and microwave test and measurement solutions and services. NSI-MI was acquired for $230 million and has annual sales of approximately $90 million.

LAKE FOREST, Calif. TiaLinx, Inc., developer of highly integrated wireless systems, announced implementation of its planar programmable polarized antenna technology at the Ka-band. The small footprint antenna element has been integrated with the switch and phase shifter to address a fully integrated planar programmable polarized cell with beamsteering capability in an antenna array (P3BA2).

FORT WORTH, Texas. The U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Systems Command is working toward the next phase of replacing the legacy Light Armored Vehicle with a modern, robust Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV), and Elbit Systems of America has teamed with Textron Systems to produce a solution that will aim to provide Marines with capabilities including enhanced situational understanding technologies.

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) announced that it has completed the Initial Design Review (IDR) of the space vehicle and ground segment for the U.S. Space Force (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Electro-Optical Infrared (EO/IR) Weather System (EWS) satellite program.

PHOENIX, Ariz. Honeywell and Inmarsat announced an agreement to develop and deliver commercial satellite communications (COMSATCOM) solutions to the U.S. government. The solutions will be focused on fixed-wing and non-fixed wing aeronautical platforms operating worldwide, including in Arctic regions. 

SAN FRANCISCO. Medical-focused virtual reality (VR) company SimX -- in a continuation of its partnership with the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and U.S. Space Force -- won four new contracts totaling more than $1.5 million to develop innovative training solutions for special operations forces.

GERMANY. Sensor solutions provider HENSOLDT has received an order from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) to equip the Royal Netherlands Army's Fennek armored reconnaissance vehicles with visual systems. The scope of the order includes 188 BAA II NL observation and reconnaissance systems as well as a number of spare parts.
