LONDON. The worldwide market for military airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) technologies will be driven in the next decade largely by global geopolitical tensions and security concerns, according to a new Visiongain report, "Military Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) Technologies Market Report 2023-2033." 

U.S. ARMY JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. June 2023 saw the U.S. Army conduct extensive testing for the Multi-Function Electronic Warfare – Air Large (MFEW-AL) capability, starting with initial testing at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and continuing throughout the summer with developmental testing and Soldier Touch Points at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, California, and Fort Drum, New York.

MERRIMACK, N.H. BAE Systems signed a five-year contract with Lockheed Martin to sustain the AN/ALR-94 advanced digital electronic warfare (EW) system for the F-22 Raptor, the aircraft used by the U.S. Air Force as an air superiority fighter jet. 

WASHINGTON. The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) announced that $238 million in funding from the “Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) and Science Act” (known as the CHIPS Act) will be divided between eight Microelectronics Commons so-called regional innovation hubs this year, marking the largest fund allocation to date under the U.S. government's CHIPS Act.

MUNICH. Sensor solutions company Hensoldt will equip the U.S. Coast Guard's “Legend” class National Security Cutter (NSC) ship with its TRS-3D multimode naval radar, under a follow-on contract worth approximately 10 million euros ($10.6 million).

STOCKHOLM. Saab and Sweden's national Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) have signed an agreement -- worth approximately SEK 5.8 billion ($524 million) -- regarding new functionality and adjusted delivery schedules for Gripen E and Gripen C/D multirole fighter aircraft.

PORTSMOUTH NAVAL BASE, Portsmouth, U.K. A team made up of personnel from QinetiQ, Inzpire, and BAE Systems delivered a demonstration under Phase 2 of the Platform Enabled Training Capability (PETC) to the U.K. royal navy, under which the team connected simultaneously into three platforms docked at the naval base via satellite communications and enabled the crews of the ships to conduct realistic training against a peer adversary. 

LONDON. U.K. naval warships and RAF [Royal Air Force] patrol aircraft tracked a series of Russian vessels in waters close to the U.K. recently in what the British navy termed a "a concerted monitoring operation."
