VeriFinder Radioisotope Identification Device to be deployed across DoD

WESTFORD, Mass. Symetrica Inc., a radiation detection and identification business, announced that it has been awarded a $35 million multi-year contract by the U.S. Department of Defense to provide several hundred of its VeriFinder radioisotope identification devices (RIIDs) for deployment across all branches of the United States armed forces.

According to the company, Symetrica will begin delivering VeriFinders over the next few months and is expected to continue into 2025.

The devices use patented, field-proven Discovery Technology that is inteded to provide easy to use and accurate radiation detection and identification for cargo inspection, homeland security, and emergency use.

The company claims that the Discovery Technology used in the RIIDs is achieved through a combination of patented algorithms, software, detection hardware, analytics, and calibration technologies.
