Next-generation sensors integrated onto FastJets to bolster ISR capabilities

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. Collins Aerospace, a unit of Raytheon Technologies Corp., was awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract modification by the U.S. Air Force for its newest FastJet reconnaissance pod, the MS-110 Multispectral Airborne Reconnaissance system.
According to the company, the newer MS-110 is a step-change advancement in Airborne Reconnaissance capability and is designed to provide capabilities that are unmatched by targeting pods or sensors internally fitted inside the aircraft body.
Officials claims that these capabilities include high resolution imagery achievable at long/stand-off range for peacetime cross-boarder surveillance or high-threat wartime scenarios, multispectral imagery to detect targets through contested environmental conditions, wide-area coverage, flexible planning/re-tasking, and SCi-Toolset, a suite of software to help extract critical intelligence from the MS-110’s imagery.
