AFRL taps MacB to conduct & mature research on advanced sensors, EW technologies

DAYTON, Ohio. Officials at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Spectrum Warfare Systems Engineering Branch (RYWD) tapped MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB) for the Effective Sensor Technology Evaluations and Enabling Methodologies (ESTEEM) program task order where engineers will develop and mature research methodologies for rapid assessment of advanced sensors and electronic warfare (EW) technologies.
Under contract, MacB will conduct research assessments and evaluations (both qualitative and quantitative) of advanced sensors and EW technologies via AFRL’s Sensors Directorate, the Integrated Demonstrations and Applications Laboratory’s (IDAL) real-time synthetic battlespace simulation. The goal is to use the collaborative data to mature integrated technologies/concepts for spectrum warfare, and the development of advanced methodologies in all phases of Science and Technology research.
AFRL is dedicated to scientific research leading to the discovery, development, and integration of warfighting capabilities for the Nation’s air, space, and cyberspace forces. As part of AFRL’s Sensors Directorate, the Integrated Demonstrations and Applications Laboratory (IDAL) is a leading EW simulation facility that combines Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Human-in-the-Loop modeling and simulation to get next generation systems into the hands of the warfighter.
MacB’s initial contract value is $9.6 million over a five-year period. Work will be performed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and MacB corporate headquarters in Dayton.
