Microsemi Delivers Advanced Security That's Also Easy-to-Use
Eletter ProductMicrosemi features the most advanced security features in its SmartFusion2 and IGLOO2 families, but many designers don't know how easy it is to benefit from these capabilities. In fact, for many security applications, like protecting the Intellectual Property in your FPGA or SoC FPGA design, you need not do anything extra. Microsemi has you covered!
Microsemi flash-based FPGA configuration memory cells are located within the FPGA fabric and directly control the routing switches and look-up tables used to implement user logic. This is a much more secure configuration method than the external memory used by SRAM-based FPGAs. Microsemi devices automatically use an encrypted bit stream when they are programmed that eliminates threats like overbuilding and cloning so that your manufacturing flow is secure, even if you use outside and unsecure contract manufacturing facilities.
Microsemi Security Features Protect Your Valuable Design from Attacks, Automatically
Security features based on the use of secret keys (like encryption and decryption) are only effective if the secret keys are adequately protected from intrusion. For example, Differential Power Analysis (DPA) attacks observe the current being used during security functions and compare the observations to simulated results based on a specific key value. Statistical analysis of the comparison of the actual result to the simulated result can determine a security key value. Microsemi is the only FPGA provider that protects security keys with DPA countermeasures automatically, without any extra design effort.
