NATO, Leonardo team for cybersecurity initiatives

ROME. Global defense and cybersecurity company Leonardo has signed an Industrial Partnership Agreement (IPA) with the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) to share cybersecurity information with private-sector companies that operate in NATO and allied countries in order to mutually enhance situational awareness and the protection of NATO's networks and systems.
Leonardo will collaborate with NCI Agency to identify cyberthreat patterns and attack trends, in an effort aimed at improving preventive measures, reducing the scope of future cyberattacks, and boosting NATO's ability to safeguard information when working with private industry.
NATO and companies working with NATO members face increasing risks that information exchanged or stored on their networks and systems can be accessed, affected, or infected through malicious acts.
Leonardo has been the company of record for several years as the provider for the NATO cybersecurity program Computer Incident Response-Full Operational Capability (NCIRC-FOC), which assures the security of information and information communication technology infrastructure from cyberattacks in 52 NATO sites in 29 different countries.
