ARLINGTON, Va. Leonardo DRS has won a contract worth $104 million to deliver the next generation of U.S. Army mission command computing systems -- the modular Mounted Family of Computer Systems II (MFoCS II) -- that support the Army’s current modernization strategy for ground combat vehicles, combat support vehicles, and command posts.
The contract for the system -- awarded by the Defense Information Technology Contracting Office of the Defense Information Systems Agency on behalf of U.S. Army Program Manager, Mission Command, and U.S. Army Program Executive Office – Command, Control and Communications – Tactical (PEO C3T) -- calls for Leonardo DRS to supply critical system capability upgrades, cybersecurity improvements, and rugged multitouch displays.
According to information from the company, the most recent contract will include significant performance enhancements of the platform computing server as the Army continues to improve the systems used for tactical situational awareness and global logistics tracking.
Work under the terms of this contract will be done at the Leonardo DRS Land Electronics facility in Melbourne, Florida.
