Homeland Security re-awards huge cybersecurity contract to Raytheon

WALTHAM, Mass. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has re-awarded its Development, Operations and Maintenance contract to support government computer networks -- the contract is known as DOMino -- to Raytheon. The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract carries a value of up to $1 billion over five years.
Raytheon will act as the prime contractor and systems integrator to safeguard the ".gov" domain by providing design, development, operations, and maintenance services in support of DHS's National Protection and Programs Directorate. Under the terms of the contract, Raytheon will aid DHS as it develops the next generation of the National Cybersecurity Protection System, which will have such upgraded capabilities as intrusion detection and prevention, automation, analytics, and information sharing.
The DHS initially awarded Raytheon the DOMino contract in October 2015, but it had been held up due to several protests of the award by rival Northrop Grumman.
