HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. The Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) Next Generation Identification Friend or Foe (NGIFF) program office has completed the first installation of the AN/UPX-40 system on an operational AWACS aircraft at Tinker AFB, Okla.The Identification Friend of Foe (IFF) system retains legacy capabilities, but includes Mode 5 Interrogation enhancements.

ST. LOUIS. The U.S. Air Force received the 28th C-17 Globemaster III aircrew simulator at Shepherd Field Air National Guard Base in Martinsburg, W. Va. With Boeing delivering this final training simulator, the U.S. Air Force completes their goal of having a national system for C-17 training.

TUCSON, Ariz. U.S. Air Force completes operational testing for the Advance Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM), the AIM-120D. Following suit, the U.S. Navy finished its initial operational capability (IOC) on the missile.

F-35 training and simulation team wins modeling and simulation award at I/ITSEC - News

ORLANDO, Fla. The National Training and Simulation Association officials announced this week at Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando, that they have chosen the F-35 Lightning II Training System for the 2014 Modeling & Simulation Awards. It recognizes the F-35 Joint Program Office, the U.S. Air Force’s 33rd Fighter Wing, the F-35 Joint Program Office, and Lockheed Martin for providing an effective, immersive training experience for F-35 pilots and maintainers.

FAB-T software qualification testing, AEHF and Milstar C2 demonstration completed by Boeing - News

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA. Systems integration testing and software qualification testing of the U.S. Air Force Family of Advanced Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminal (FAB-T) development program have been completed at the Boeing plant in Huntington Beach, CA. Along with a demonstration of FAB-T integration with the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) and Milstar mission control subsystem constellations, the recent tests prove the FAB-T system’s abilities controlling strategic satellite communications payloads on orbit.
