RTI connectivity tech to bolster complex modeling and simulation

SUNNYVALE, Calif. Real-Time Innovations (RTI), software framework provider for smart machines and real-world systems, announced that Kratos, National Security Solutions provider, has selected RTI Connext DDS as the connectivity framework for its military simulators including the Reconfigurable Virtual Collective Training System (RVCTS).
According to RTI, the RVCTS training system incorporates the latest mixed reality technology to deliver high immersive fidelity. By leveraging Connext DDS in their RVCTS, Kratos will aim to ensure reliable backend communication among hardware and software real-time systems.
Officials claim that the government is implementing new technology in modeling and simulation, specifically for the development of high-fidelity synthetic training environments (STE) at a rapid pace. Developing these integrated systems efficiently, affordably, and in a manner where they can readily interoperate with each other can be a challenge. RTI Connext DDS is intended to facilitate communication between the hardware and software components of Kratos’ RVCTS and is designed to be scalable to grow as their technology evolves.
Connext DDS, based upon the open Data Distribution Service (DDS), managed by the Object Management Group (OMG), is designed to form a connectivity fabric that aims to enable legacy simulations from multiple vendors using multiple MS&T standards to create new live, virtual, and constructive environments for real-world training scenarios.
Additionally, RTI technology aims to make it easy for simulations running on current government platforms like HLA and DIS to interoperate with newer platforms as technology advances.
