SYDNEY. The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has signed a through life support (TLS) contract with Northrop Grumman Corp. to service its C-27J Spartan Battlefield Airlifter fleet. The five-year-base, 22-year rolling wave, performance-based contract includes engineering and logistic services.
Under the terms of the contract, Northrop Grumman will team with Leonardo, the original equipment manufacturer for the aircraft; the pairing enables Northrop Grumman to enhance its work on data access, design engineering support, and supply-chain management. John Parker, vice president and general manager for Northrop Grumman Technology Services, said of the long-term contract: “Our team will provide capabilities that go beyond daily sustainment operations to provide forward-thinking, analytical solutions for the C-27J platform. Our process is predictive, holistic, and continually optimized to provide game-changing mission readiness. This enables us to anticipate necessary modernizations and enhancements to the fleet.”
