U.S. Army orders laser-based simulation systems from Cubic

SAN DIEGO. U.S. Army officials representing the Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) and Army Contracting Command-Orlando (ACC-ORL) ordered Cubic Global Defense?s Instrumentable-Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System Individual Weapon Systems 2 (I-MILES IWS 2). The contract is worth an estimated $10 million.

Under contract, Cubic Global Defense - a Cubic Corp. subsidiary - will provide tactical simulation systems for realistic training. I-MILES IWS 2 is a laser-based simulation system with body sensors that detect hits and perform real-time casualty assessments.
