U.S. Army awards unmanned aerial target drone contract, potential for $93.3 million

SAN DIEGO. Kratos Defense & Security Solutions announced that its Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services (DRSS) Division has been awarded a prime contract for the U.S. Army's Aerial Target Systems 2 (ATS-2) contract. The combined firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order contract has a ceiling of $93.3 million over a potential five-year period of performance.
According to the terms of the contract, Kratos DRSS will provide research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E); commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and noncommercial materials; technical flight; engineering field support; and logistical and technical support needed for the unmanned aerial target drone system programs managed by the U.S. Army’s Target Management Office (TMO). The TMO is a Division of the Department of the Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), Project Office for Instrumentation, Targets and Threat Simulators (PM ITTS).
Kratos officials state that the work under this contract will be done at various secure Kratos facilities and at government locations.
