LONDON. The market for smart sensors used in the military and defense arenas is projected to reach $310.7 million in 2029, according to a new market forecast from Visiongain, "Smart Sensors in Military and Defense Market Report 2019-2029."

One aspect of sensor use that will drive the market, according to the report, is the increasing popularity of wearable technologies, which are heavy users of sensors. Wearable technologies will be used even more in the near future to aid soldiers to carry out some of their functions more efficiently and freely and to enhance safety, security, and protection for the wearer.

Sensors, say the report authors, are also heavily used -- and will be even more popular in the coming years -- in such military and defense systems as drones, spacecrafts, missiles, military vehicles, ships, marine systems, satellites,  and rockets.
