Romania $395.8 FMS contract calls for the production of the Patriot system

TEWKSBURY, Mass. U.S Army officials selected Raytheon for a foreign military sales (FMS) valued at $395.8 million for the production of Romania's Patriot Air and Missile Defense System.
Raytheon's Patriot is a missile defense system consisting of radars, command-and-control technology and multiple types of interceptors, all working together to detect, identify and defeat tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones, advanced aircraft and other threats. Patriot is the foundation of integrated air and missile defense for 15 nations.
To meet production needs, Raytheon has placed orders from suppliers including critical electronic components, machined parts, circuit card assemblies, and cables.
The estimated completion date is April 30, 2020. Fiscal 2018 foreign military sales funds in the amount of $289,649,493 were obligated at the time of the award. U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.
