Oshkosh Defense's TerraMax UGV demonstrated at AUVSI Hill Day in D.C.

OSHKOSH, WI. A division of Oshkosh Corporation, Oshkosh Defense, demonstrated the TerraMax Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) at the AUVSI “Hill Day” at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C. The TerraMax is designed to reduce military troops’ exposure to Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and to optimize the number of troops needed to complete ground missions.
After demonstrating the TerraMax UGV, representatives from Oshkosh Defense will discuss specs with lawmakers and staff during the event. “As the leader in UGV technology for tactical wheeled vehicles, Oshkosh Defense is excited to meet with Congressional representatives to illustrate the benefits UGV technology can bring to military fleets today,” says John Beck, Chief Unmanned Systems Engineer for Oshkosh Corporation.
Oshkosh is continuing to work independently as well as with the U.S. military for the use of the TerraMax UGV technology on multiple vehicles for a range of operations, including convoy logistics and route clearance missions.
“Our TerraMax technology has successfully completed numerous government evaluations, providing force protection by extending standoff distance from potential threats, and force multiplication by empowering a single operator to supervise multiple unmanned assets within a convoy. It’s a mature, fieldable solution,” continues Beck.
