PARIS AIR SHOW. Key tests for hypersonic weapons were performed by experts from Lockheed Martin the U.S. Air Force.? Testing involved the AGM-183A Air-Launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW) carried on the service's B-52 Stratofortress out of Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.

This captive carry flight is part of the Air Force's rapid prototyping effort to mature the hypersonic weapon, AGM-183A, which completed a preliminary design review this spring; more ground and flight testing is expected over the next three years.

Hypersonic weapons amplify many of the enduring attributes of airpower – speed, range, flexibility and precision - to overcome distance in contested threat environments.
