BOISE, Idaho. Counter-unmanned aerial system (CUAS) company Black Sage has won a $950 million ceiling, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract with the U.S. Air Force for the maturation, demonstration, and proliferation of capability across platforms and domains.
According to the award announcement, the CUAS contract intends to leverage open systems design, modern software, and algorithm development in order to enable Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2), the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) quest to connect sensors from all of the military services -- Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force -- into a single network.
This contract is part of a multiple-award multilevel push to develop and operate systems as a unified force across all domains -- air, land, sea, space, cyber, and electromagnetic spectrum -- in an open architecture family of systems that operate via multiple integrated platforms.
