IRVINE, California. Meggitt Defense Systems, Inc. (MDSI) won a contract to provide the Thermal Management System (TMS) to General Dynamics Land Systems in Sterling Heights, Michigan, for the Abrams program. The TMS delivers active cooling to the upgraded Abrams electronics and crew.
The contract, valued at $22 million, is the second half of the Abrams ARC1 contract that MDSI was awarded late year for a similar number of TMS. MDSI has already produced and delivered more than 2,520 Thermal Management Systems (TMS) for the Abrams Program.
Meggitt engineers also supply the Auxiliary Cooling and Power System (ACPS) to GD Abrams and LAV programs in Michigan and London, Ontario.
