TOULON, France. A 6U VPX dual eight-core Intel Xeon D processor blade computer made by embedded computing and Internet of Things company Kontron has been successfully integrated and tested in a radar application by defense electronics corporation Thales.
The Kontron VX6090 processor blade computer uses standards-based 10 Gigabit Ethernet communication fabrics, I/O connectivity, and dense processing methods in a flexible platform for size, weight, and power (SWaP)-constrained missions, say Kontron company documents. The VX6090 integrates two secure elements, Kontron APPROTECT and Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which enable added security through trusted boot, authentication by TPM, and secure boot solutions, say company officials.
The blade computer is intended for use in streaming radar signal processing, image processing, and embedded server-type applications.
