PARIS, France. Thales won a contract from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence through the French Ministry of the Armed Forces to supply Ukraine with a second air defense system to help the nation boost its territorial security, the company announced in a statement.
The newly contracted system includes the ControlMaster 200 (CM200) setup, which features the Ground Master 200 air surveillance radar, a radio communications system, and the ControlView command-and-control center, along with portable weapon allocation terminals. This addition follows the deployment of the first system in 2023.
This comprehensive short-range air defense solution is designed to enhance the detection and engagement of threats across multiple domains (air, land, and sea), tracking both low and high-altitude targets in varied environments and supporting rapid and accurate weapon coordination from Very Short Range Air Defense (VSHORAD) to Extended Short Range Air Defense (E-SHORAD), the statement reads.
