COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. and DELEON SPRINGS, Fla. ERAPSCO -- a joint venture of Ultra Electronics and Sparton DLS -- has won a contract from the U.S. Navy valued at $71.8 million for the manufacture of sonobuoys. This latest contract is a modification of the contract signed in Fiscal Year 2019 in which the Navy ordered a number of AN/SSQ-125 sonobuoys for its U.S. fleet.

David Jost, president of Ultra Electronics' Maritime USSI, commented on the contract win: “I am pleased that we have secured this important contract that will continue to provide critical sensor capabilities to the U.S. Navy. This contract is a reflection of the increased focus on antisubmarine warfare and the U.S. Navy’s commitment to providing key technology for this important mission.”

Production on the sonobuoys will occur at Ultra Electronics USSI’s Columbia City, Indiana, facility and Sparton’s DeLeon Springs, Florida, facility; the contract is expected to be fulfilled by July 2022.
