ANDOVER, Mass. Mercury Systems has received $16 million in follow-on orders -- against its previously announced $152 million, five-year sole-source basic ordering agreement (BOA) -- to deliver advanced Digital RF Memory (DRFM) jammers to the U.S. Navy.

According to company information, Mercury's DRFM employs modules as thin as 0.44 inches and use the advantages of low-noise direct digital synthesizer (DDS) local oscillator (LO) technology to deliver sub-microsecond tuning speeds over a wide bandwidth.

Mercury DRFM jammers are size, weight and power (SWaP)-optimized to be usable on airborne pod-based solutions.

The company expects that the jammers will be delivered over the next several quarters.
