Air Force Research Lab signs $49 million contract with Engility for weapons R & D

CHANTILLY, Va. Engility Holdings has won a contract worth $49 million to continue to support the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in its Kinetic Kill Hardware-in-the-Loop (KHILS) Simulation Technology for Advanced Research (KSTAR) program.
Through KSTAR, Engility will assist the government in assessing high-end, next-generation weapons system concepts over the next five years.
According to company sources, the Engility team and the AFRL are investigating technologies for test and evaluation of sensor systems and associated hardware used in weapons systems, including electro-optical, infrared, laser, and radar guidance technologies.
