Rugged shipboard enclosures benefit of Curtiss-Wright, 901D acquisition

DAVIDSON, N.C. Curtiss-Wright Corporation announced that it has completed the acquisition of 901D Holdings, LLC (901D) for $132 million in cash. 901D is a designer and manufacturer of mission-critical integrated electronic systems, subsystems, and ruggedized shipboard enclosure solutions supporting every major U.S. Navy shipbuilding program.
According to Curtiss-Wright, the acquisition is intended to expand the company's instrumentation and controls systems technologies. A statement provided by Curtiss-Wright claimed the goal of the acquisition is to provide shipboard solutions on both nuclear and non-nuclear powered vessels.
Curtiss-Wright states that 901D will operate within Curtiss-Wright's Defense segment. 901D’s capabilities that influenced the acquisition include software solutions to protect servers, weapons systems, and other hardware aboard all major U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, submarines, and surface ships from harsh environments.
It is a supplier of MIL-SPEC ruggedized enclosures from specification through certification and also provides proven design configurations.
