3D Beampattern for 10x10 Uniform Rectangular Array in Phased Array System Toolbox

NATICK, MA. The MathWorks Phased Array System Toolbox has been updated with MATLAB and Simulink to accelerate modeling and simulation of radar systems. The Phased Array System Toolbox is an end-to-end tool for modeling radar data processing or phased array systems using array perturbations, broadband arrays, and polarization. The enhancements in Release 2013a (R2013a) allow developers to model more complex scenarios.

As part of R2013a, the Phased Array System Toolbox was enhanced with monostatic/multistatic radar system modeling capabilities; the ability to model with arbitrary geometries for pattern analysis of linear, planar, and conformal sensor arrays; platform motion and polarization specification for targets and arrays; and GPU support to allow cluster modeling. The SimRF product was also enhanced under R2013a, adding a circuit envelope solver and expanded component library for RF front end simulation.

“As wireless and radar communications systems become more complex, designers need to be able to see how RF devices and signal processing algorithms interact with each other to affect overall system behavior,” says Ken Karnofsky, Senior Strategist, Signal Processing, MathWorks. “These new capabilities in MATLAB and Simulink eliminate the time and effort required to maintain separate tools and legacy code bases.”
