Northrop Grumman on tap to provide RF signal tech for Navy EW simulations

BUFFALO, N.Y. Northrop Grumman has been chosen to provide advanced radio frequency (RF) signal generation technology to the U.S. Navy as part of the Navy's Next-Generation Electronic Warfare Environment Generator (NEWEG) program.
Under the terms of the contract, Northrop Grumman’s Amherst Systems business unit will supply its advanced RF Generation Technology for the NEWEG program, which will provide the Navy’s test generator with advanced threat laboratory and simulation capabilities.
At the core of Northrop Grumman’s system is advanced pulse generation (APG) technology, which harnesses updated direct digital synthesis techniques to generate advanced waveforms; as part of the NEWEG development, Northrop Grumman is enhancing its basic APG design, which company officials believe will boost functionality. The enhanced design keeps the open architecture modularity and flexibility of the APG and is packaged in a true plug-and-play architecture, which makes it easily adaptable for use in laboratory, anechoic chamber, and range applications.
