WASHINGTON. Kinnami, a data security firm, won a U.S. Air Force (USAF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract through AFWERX and the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) to optimize its technology to enhance and protect the integrity of USAF data against growing data threats.

The company developed AmiShare, which is a distributed data security platform that prevents sensitive data breaches across devices and users. The data is broken into fragments, encrypted, and distributed across a network of servers, devices, and the Cloud.

According to the company, AmiShare will audit access to data and secure it where it is created or stored in an attempt to ensure that data is protected as it moves. Any attempt to break in will require access and individual decryption of all encrypted fragments across multiple devices and locations.
