USAF information-security project worth $77 million awarded to VMD Corp.

FARIFAX, Va. VMD Corp., a systems integrator and IT-security contractor, has won a $77 million contract from the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to support the USAF Office of Information Dominance and Chief Information Officer (SAF/CIO A6) in its cyberspace-protection mission.
VMD, according to company information, will provide SAF/CIO A6 with business analysis, advisory and assistance services in support of the following areas: Deputy Chief Information Officer, Cyberspace Chief Information Security Officer, AF Chief Technology Officer, Cyberspace Strategy & Policy Directorate, Cyberspace Operations & Warfighter Integration Directorate, and Cyberspace Capabilities & Compliance.
VMD Chief Executive Officer Deepti Malhotra said of the contract win: "“We pride ourselves on being vision- and mission-driven, and being selected to do this kind of strategic, mission-critical work is such a testament to everyone who worked on the proposal and who will support SAF/CIO A6 in helping the Air Force maintain an advantageous position as it confronts evolving, complex cyberthreats for years to come.”
The award -- which began in January 2019 -- includes a 12-month base period with four option years, including tasks and line items.
