SAIC wins two NASA IT contracts worth $161 million

RESTON, Va. Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) has won two contracts from NASA for development, sustainment, and maintenance of information technology (IT) software, systems, and support for the Flight Operations Directorate at NASA?s Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Taken together, the contracts have a total potential value of approximately $161 million.
The Joint Operations and Integrated Systems Technology (JOIST) contracts are divided into three baseline areas, of which SAIC has been awarded a single-award contract known as Baseline A and a multiple-award, indefinite devliery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract. Under the terms of the Baseline A contract, SAIC will provide IT-related support services for the NASA Aircraft Management Information System, NASA's integrated, modular, custom software suite that supports aircraft flight operations across the agency. The contract could be worth as much as $25.6 million with a two-year base period of performance, a two-year option, and a single-year option to extend.
Under the multiple-award, ID/IQ contract, SAIC will provide specialized, advanced research and development IT. SAIC is one of five awardees; the potential contract value is $135 million for all awardees. The ID/IQ has a two-year base period of performance and an ordering period that ends in September 2022.
