Cybersecurity GmbH business unit established at Rohde & Schwarz

MUNICH, Germany. Rohde & Schwarz officials announced that the company will combine its IT and network security subsidiaries. The business unit will be named Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity GmbH. Ammar Alkassar and Reik Hesselbarth will head the business unit and be responsible for developing its portfolio.

Rohde & Schwarz cybersecurity engineers will apply security-by-design technological concepts to deliver protection against outside attacks, officials say. The company will be based in Munich and will focus on strengthening its position in Europe.

In 2014 and 2015, Rohde & Schwarz acquired Adyton GmbH, gateprotect GmbH, and Sirrix AG. The company’s subsidiaries ipoque GmbH and Rohde & Schwarz SIT GmbH will continue to contribute to the portfolio and as part of the consolidation, SIT will be reorganized. The Stuttgart office will focus on its core business of radio communications encryption solutions. The encryption and network security product groups will remain in Berlin, but will be integrated into Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity GmbH.

"The IT and network security market today is fragmented in both Germany and Europe. There are no strong providers like we see in the United States. We will rise to this challenge and develop Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity into a key solutions provider in Europe," says Ammar Alkassar.
