CAMBRIDGE, Mass. U.S. Air Force (USAF) officials tasked Charles River Analytics to build a cyberdefense toolkit under the Managing Evaluation and Testing for Red Team Investigations of Cyber Security program. The two-year follow contract is valued at an estimated $500,000.
Officials say the cyberdefense toolkit will provide high-fidelity assessments of software services designed to help uphold current cybersecurity efforts.
“METRICS provides intuitive tools for developing cyber-defense performance measures in test environments,” says Sean Guarino, Principal Scientist at Charles River and Principal Investigator on the METRICS effort. “It enables the development of better cyber defense tools and performance assessments in training exercises.”
METRICS program includes four components:
- Library for real-time assessment and identification of security failures
- Authoring tools to develop and collect customizable metrics
- A visualization framework to review the results of analysis
- Identify requirements for non-invasive data collection
