(GA?ASI) announced a successful demonstration of a radar warning receiver (RWR) on a GA-ASI Predator B/MQ-9 Reaper Block 5 remotely piloted aircraft (RPA). The GA-ASI-owned Predator B operated from the company's Gray Butte Flight Operations Facility near Palmdale, California, performing against various ground-based radars.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) recently completed Phase 1 of its Gremlins program, which has as its goal fielding volleys of low-cost, reusable unmanned aerial systems (UASs) that would be launched and later retrieved in midair. Moving on to the next stage, DARPA has now awarded Phase 2 contracts to two teams, one led by Dynetics (Huntsville, Alabama) and the other led by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (San Diego, California).

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) announced that it has completed the initial flight of its Avenger Extended Range (ER) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), an extended-range version of its multimission jet-powered Predator C Avenger craft, which has accumulated over 13,000 flight hours to date. GA-ASI says that the flight took place on October 27th at the company's Gray Butte Flight Operations Facility in Palmdale, California.
