Boeing has announced that it successfully tested an electromagnetic pulse missile capable of disabling electronics without affecting structures. The Counter-electronics High-powered Advanced Missile Project (CHAMP) was tested by a Boeing Phantom Works/U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory Directed Energy Directorate team on October 16 at the Utah Test and Training Range.

LOUIS, August 30 – Wind tunnel tests on a winged variant of Boeing’s Joint Direct Attack Munition Extended Range (JDAM-ER) completed in June have increased the prospects of tripling the glide range of JDAMs to over 40 miles were completed in June. The 500-pound unit fitted with a modular, unfolding wing kit, allows aircraft equipped with the low-cost guidance kit to engage targets from beyond the range of enemy air defenses.

The Boeing Tactical Compact Communications Relay (TCCR) that allows Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to act as a range-extender for military handheld radios have been reduced in size and weight to 5? x 5? x 1? and 1 lb., respectively. Four production units were shipped to Initsu, and can be leveraged in the Initsu ScanEagle payload bay to extend the range of line-of-sight military handheld radios to more than 150 miles.

SEATTLE. The U.S. Navy received the second production P-8A Poseidon aircraft from Boeing. The P-8A is one of 13 low rate initial production (LRIP) maritime patrol aircraft being built for the Navy. The aircraft, which will replace the venerable P-13 aircraft performs anti-surface warfare anti-submarine warfare, as well as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR).
