U.S. Air Force awards AFSPC-52 launch services contract to SpaceX

AIR FORCE SPACE COMMAND SPACE AND MISSILE SYSTEMS CENTER/LOS ANGELES AIR FORCE BASE, EL SEGUNDO, Calif. The U.S. Air Force has awarded an Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) launch service contract worth $130 million to Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX, Hawthorne, California) to handle launch services to deliver an Air Force Space Command (AFSPC)-52 satellite to its intended orbit.
The firm-fixed-price contract provides the Air Force with a total launch solution for the mission, which includes launch vehicle production, mission integration, and launch operations.
This classified mission is expected to be launched from Kennedy Space Center, Florida,in late fiscal year 2020.
