SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. U.S. Navy officials modified an existing contract with General Dynamics Missions Systems tasking them to manufacture and deliver more than 30 AN/USC-61(C) Digital Modular Radios (DMR), including related materials and equipment for the service surface vessels and submarines.

Engineers have added the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) waveform, a digital dial tone that enables connection with the Navy-lead MUOS satellite communications network. The system is NSA certified to carry classified information at the Type 1 - Top Secret level and below.

Most of the work will be performed at the company's facility in Scottsdale, Arizona.
