Warfighters get connected to tactical cloud via Harris network

MELBOURNE, Fla. Engineers at Harris Corp. released anew networking system -- the Harris Falcon ? that will connect warfighters in the battlefield over wideband tactical and cellular networks to a tactical cloud to enable secure transfer command and control video, data, and other applications.
The new Harris network integrates computer servers and Falcon Falcon III multiband tactical radios into a lightweight package. The system s designed with a 4G tactical cellular module that enables warfighters to use ruggedized smartphones and other lightweight devices while deployed in the field. Harris engineers also developed a rugged tablet device designed to integrate with the Falcon networking system.
The new system contains an LTE Core that enables basic video, voice, data, and network management by leveraging compatible with commercial technology. Harris engineers plan to add roaming and composed security features.
