U.S. Navy awards $34 million for communications-support package

WASHINGTON. The U.S. Navy has awarded Alion Science and Technology -- a technology solutions company based in Tysons Corner, Virginia -- an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ), cost-plus-fixed-fee, multiple-award contract that could ultimately total as much as $34 million to provide the Navy with worldwide communications and media support services.
As part of this multiple-award ID/IQ contract, Alion will work to support the Chief of Naval Information Command (CHINFO) across five major tasks: media relations, communications integration and strategy, community outreach, visual information support, and professional and community development facilitation. The five-year contract includes four option years. Work under the terms of the contract will be performed at multiple sites across the country.
