Supacat showcases LRV 400 at DSEI 2013

LONDON. Supacat has presented the Light Reconnaissance Vehicle (LRV) 400 at the Defence Security and Equipment International (DSEI) 2013 conference in London, UK. The LRV 400 has a maximum speed of 170 km/h (105 mph) and a range of 1000 km (620 m), with an ability to carry payloads up to 1400 kg (3,086 lbs), and is designed for border patrol, light strike missions, rapid intervention, reconnaissance, and special forces.

Based on the Qt Systems’ Wildcat, the LRV 400 features the Wildcat’s tubular space-frame chassis and suspension, but is less costly by adopting a Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) platform.

"Supreme performance and tactical CH-47 internal loading have been key targets on this project. The users will be able to drive in and drive out without the need to offload their payload or to conduct any lengthy preparation for flight,'' says Jamie Clarke, head of Supacat Marketing and Communications.

The LRV 400 can be outfitted with various communications sytems, low-weight armor solutions, and weapons systems, and is easily reconfigured for different operational roles.
