Sikorsky CH-53K Helicopters to use area microphone preamplifier from Cobham

PRESCOTT, AZ. Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. officials ordered Model 265-005 Area Microphone Preamplifiers from Cobham for use on CH-53K Super Stallion Heavy Lift Helicopters operated by the U.S. Marine Corps.
The Model 265 amplifies and detects cockpit signals for routing to voice recorders. It available with a glare shield surface mount, standard DZUS panel mount, and integrated or remotely-connected microphone options. The CH-53K, 200-ship program is expected to continue through 2020 and beyond. Cobham Aerospace Communications produces Area Microphone Preamplifier Equipment compatible with a variety of manufacturers’ voice and data recorders that are used across a range of aircraft applications.
