National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency chooses BAE Systems for data network

ARLINGTON, Va. BAE Systems has garnered three contract awards from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) aimed at strengthening NGA's near-real-time access to commercially created geospatial data, enriched content, and community-sourced information; such data is used to improve decision timelines for policymakers, the military, and emergency networks.
Under the terms of the new contract, BAE Systems will pursue future orders under the NGA's Janus program – Janus Geomatics Precise Imagery, Janus Geography, and Janus Geomatics Elevation – as part of three separate 10-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contracts worth up to $1.52 billion.
BAE Systems, according to company documents, will use a full range of geointelligence sources, cloud-processing services, and automation and artificial intelligence; employ predictive-analysis models and change-detection tools; and ensure that users have the most current and reliable information by using machine-learning algorithms, automated workflows, and upstream quality assurance.
Work on the NGA contracts will be performed at BAE Systems sites in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; St. Louis, Missouri; and Rome, New York.
