Military Ku-band systems contract for mil sat use signed with Comtech Xicom

SANTA CLARA, Calif. Comtech Xicom Technology -- a part of Comtech's Commercial Solutions segment -- has won a contract valued at $1.3 million for rack-mounted Ku-band high-power traveling wave tube amplifier (“TWTA”) systems for a military satellite communications ground system.
Comtech Xicom Technology's amplifiers -- used in fixed and ground-based, shipboard, and airborne mobile applications -- comprise a range of tube-based and solid-state power amplifiers for military and commercial satellite uplink applications. According to information from the company, the TWTA systems encompass power levels from 8 W to 3 kW, with frequency coverage in sub-bands within the 2 GHz to 52 GHz spectrum.
