Hensoldt Optronics, Theon Sensors create joint company

WETZLAR, Germany. Hensoldt Optronics GmbH and Theon Sensors SA have announced the establishment of a joint company, Hensoldt Theon NightVision GmbH, a strategic expansion of the existing partnership between the two companies that aims to further their involvement in the field of thermal imaging and night vision technology, according to a company statement.
The establishment of the joint venture follows the collaboration of Hensoldt and Theon Sensors in a bidding consortium. They have been tasked with manufacturing and supplying 9,550 pairs of night vision goggles for the German and Belgian armed forces, under the armament agency OCCAR, the statement reads.
The joint venture aims to integrate the technological expertise of both companies to develop and deliver more targeted and user-oriented products rapidly, the company says. The collaborative effort will use existing products from both companies as a foundation for further development and innovation.
