AdaCore launches free online programming university

NEW YORK. AdaCore recently launched a free online resource center called AdaCore University, created for anyone interested in learning about the Ada programming language. The website offers learn-at-your-own-pace pre-recorded courses, with access to AdaCore’s GNAT Ada toolset for writing and running example programs.
AdaCore University courses were created based on the experience and teaching credentials of Ada experts, such as AdaCore founders and New York University Emeritus Professors, Edmond Schonberg and Robert Dewar. The courses educate through examples, allowing students visual understanding and experimentation.
There are two courses included in the initial curriculum: an overview that presents an overall concept of the Ada programming language and allows students to write small programs; the second covers basic concepts, the first in a series of courses focusing on basic programming concepts and more hands-on learning for students. The courses cover the latest version of the Ada language (Ada 2012).
AdaCore University will be expanding to include advanced Ada courses and SPARK 2014, an Ada-based programming language designed for high-integrity software.
