T-50A aircraft completes flight test for USAF T-X trainer competition

FORT WORTH, Texas. Lockheed Martin engineers completed an initial flight test of the T-50A aircraft configured with a 5th generation cockpit. The test was conducted in Sacheon, South Korea completing a milestone in an effort to win the bid under the U.S. Air Force?s T-X Advanced Pilot Training competition, also known as the T-X program.
Mark Ward, Lockheed Martin T-50A lead test pilot says, the aircraft with its 5th-gen cockpit configuration and other upgrades completed its testing flawlessly. It will close the gap that currently exists between the trainer fleet and 5th-generation fighters.
Lockheed Martin officials say the T-50A - developed by Lockheed Martin and Korea Aerospace Industries - meets all requirements of the competition.
