NVIS MIL-STD-3009 Compatible Display Solution
Eletter ProductWinmate has added a night vision to its selected military-grade products offering image readability in levels of light approaching total darkness.
All Winmate’s NVIS LCD components are designed and produced in Taiwan, using military-grade components meet or exceed MIL-STD-3009 compliance of Type 1 (Direct View Image) Class B NVIS requirements meaning compatible lighting with NVIS utilizing 665 nm objective lens filters. Class B devices compatible with NVIS Red and with properly filtered red lights and color electronic displays that meet the requirement.
The main advantage of the NVIS displays is its readability to the unaided eye at night; furthermore, the NVIS display screen is highly challenging to detect from a distance while in use. Thanks to its unique features, the NVIS displays are a critical component for the military, avionics, and some specialized industrial applications.
“Upgrading the selected military product lineup with the new NVIS MIL-STD-3009 technology is something that inspires our entire company,” said Winmate Chief Technology Officer Dr. Sam Liao. “This technology addition elevates our military products to a new level. We will continue to research and develop new innovative solutions for military and defense.”
How does night vision work?
Night vision is a crucial benefit of military-grade products that set this technology apart. The night vision mode suppresses/ restricts infrared emissions from the screen when a soldier is using the screen in the dark of the night, meaning that the display of the device cannot be seen even with the use of night-vision goggles. Night vision is imperative for the safety of soldiers in the field when they are working a night mission allowing them to move through the mission with ease, knowing that their position cannot be seen while they are using their device. Users can easily switch between normal mode or NVIS mode by software.
