Curtiss-Wright Showcases Latest Avionics, Vetronics, and Naval Solutions at DSEI 2019
Press ReleaseSeptember 10, 2019
(Stand S10-120) - September 10, 2019 - Curtiss-Wright's Defense Solutions division, a proven leading supplier of rugged deployed solutions for aerospace and defense applications, today announced that it will be displaying its latest products for vetronics, avionics, and naval platform products at the Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEI) conference at ExCel, London, UK, September 10-12, 2019. Featured products will include ultra small form factor mission computers and network switches, rugged high capacity storage solutions - such as the Data Transport System, and size, weight, and power (SWaP)-optimized embedded avionics systems - such as the ultra-lightweight Fortress Crash Protected Recorder. Curtiss-Wright will highlight its range of Video Management solutions, including its family of rugged LCD touchscreen Mission Displays, video switches, and video recorders. As an example, the booth will feature 25"" and 12"" Mission Displays combined with a VRDV7000 Video Recorder and an RVGMS1 Rugged Video Gateway. Solutions on display for ground vehicles will include precision ergonomically designed hand controllers for use with aiming and stabilization systems.
Live Demonstrations:
In addition to a wide range of most recent COTS module, video management systems, etc., CurtissWright will also be hosting live demonstrations of system solutions built using a variety of its open architecture products. The following demonstrations will be held in Curtiss-Wright's booth, Stand #S10-120: Curtiss-Wright Corporation Hand Controller Demonstration
Curtiss-Wright is a leading provider of modular turret stabilization system solutions. An interactive demonstration, featuring tank simulation software, will enable visitors to the booth to experience how Curtiss-Wright's rugged ergonomically designed hand controllers provide tank crews with an ideal man-machine-interface in harsh environments.
Video System Demonstration:
Highlighting its range of rugged video system management solutions, Curtiss-Wright will demonstrate how its "building block" products can be used to develop an integrated video system. The demo features two rugged touchscreen LCD mission displays, multiple video gateway switches, and the VRDV7000 Dual Channel HD Video Recorder. Curtiss-Wright's range of rugged mission displays offers a unique combination of new technology, including optically-bonded glass and dual mode NVIS-compatible LED backlighting, and a rich feature set including a highly flexible video input capability and touchscreen over USB support. Curtiss-Wright's rugged video management systems provide comprehensive video conversion and distribution solutions that simplify the routing of multiple video signals on ground and airborne platforms. Our industry-leading video gateways, such as the new RVG- MS1 Multi-Sensor Video Gateway, can receive and process a platform's sensor signals and then output them to a mission display, enabling operators to simultaneously view multiple sensor feeds, in different configurations, at the touch of a single button.
DuraNET 3300 Power Over Ethernet (PoE) Network Switch Demonstration:
Using Power Over Ethernet (PoE) enables system designers to reduce SWaP, simplify their platform's power architecture and cabling, and gain access to power architecture status and troubleshooting data. This demonstration of the PoE-enabled DuraNET 3300 features a high-definition Internet Protocol (IP) camera powered by and networked to a PoE Ethernet switch. The resulting video feed is streamed from the camera to an LCD display to demonstrate how, using PoE, an Ethernet switch can be used to inject power to sensors like an IP camera and share IP video data over a single Ethernet cable without the need for a traditional power cable or separate power supply.
DuraCOR 312 AI/Machine Learning Demonstration:
For system integrator's seeking a SWaP optimized mission computer to host artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, this demonstration of the DuraCOR 312 Rugged Miniature Modular Mission Computer powered by an NVIDIA® JetsonTM TX2i "supercomputer-on-a module" will highlight the unit's massively parallel, many-core architecture, boasting one of the highest computing FLOPS-per-watt architectures on the market.
